It is recommended to have an eye test at least once every 2 years or when there is a new symptom. If you are over 65, an annual eye test is recommended. This may be different for people with conditions such as cataracts, glaucoma, and diabetes.

Comprehensive eye tests cover more than a glasses prescription. An assessment of the health of the eyes includes looking for cataracts, macular degeneration, glaucoma, diabetic retinopathy, amblyopia, binocular vision, and other eye conditions. 

An optometrist will be able to determine your suitability for contact lenses with a contact lens consult after a standard consultation. Contact lenses will be discussed with you with the optometrist to achieve the best results. 

Medicare will cover the eye consultation, however, fees may apply for additional testing when indicated. You will be advised of any fees prior to the procedure. 

Yes, we will be happy to use a prescription from a different optometrist given the prescription is within date. 

Consider any existing eye conditions, vision problems, or family history of eye diseases you may have, this information will help us better understand your eye health needs. 

In addtion, remember to bring your currently wear glasses or contact lenses to your appointment.  Your eye care professional may want to assess your current prescription or evaluate the fit and effectiveness of your lenses.
